Neither HBO Home Video nor their distributor, Warner Brothers, has officially released word about
Six Feet Under - The Complete 3rd Season. But a Canadian wholesaler, Hip, has an ad for the release in their new catalog, dated Jan. 17 - Jan. 30, 2005 (featuring
The Incredibles on the cover).
We owe lots of thanks to reader Jesse Willis, who alerted us to the item, and was gracious enough to go out of his way to scan the catalog's cover, the ad itself, and transcribe the words from the ad. Here is that description:
From the academy award winning writer of AMERICAN BEAUTY comes a dark comic look at life and death from the perspective of a dysfunctional family that owns and operates a funeral home in California.
Though deceased patriarch Nathaniel Fisher continues to live in the hearts and visions of his family, much has changed in the Fisher household. Eldest son and new father Nate has adjusted to his career as a funeral director but faces life-or-death medical emergency and the end of a turbulent romance with his emotionally unstable girlfriend, Brenda. Younger and now openly gay son David finds his role reversing in his relationship with frustrated ex-police officer Keith Charles. Matriarch Ruth, a doting new grandmother, awakens to the reality of her nonexistent relationship with her Russian lover and boss, while Claire, the rebellious teenage daughter, tries to find happiness and herself in art school.
The ad continues by saying that this is a 5-DVD set, with a Canadian SLP (suggested list price) of "only" $119.98 CAN (probably $99.98 in the USA, based on previous releases). The street date is shown to be
March 15th. Below you will see pics of the catalog cover, the full-page ad with WB and HBO logos in the bottom left, and a large look at the cover that was extracted from the ad. Stay tuned, and we'll have all the details about this just as soon as the official announcement is made.
