We'd like to thank our loyal users who support the site by making purchases using the links on our site. This money helps keep the site running, paying for the various costs associated with running a site this size.
We have bad news for some of you. There are software programs which you may have downloaded - without realizing it! - which will hijack the links you click on at our site and steal the credit, giving it to the developers of "scumware." These programs can compromise the security of your computer and your internet browsing habits, tracking your movements from site to site and reporting back to a central server.
The good news is that we have installed a script which checks your computer for this "scumware" and will tell you if it detects anything. The script is installed on the "Release Info" page and will display a message if you're infected, along with a link to more information. The "release info" page is what we call the page that lists information about a DVD release. Click on one of the covers on the main page, or navigate to a DVD through the "DVD Releases" or "Release Schedule" links on the nav and you'll be taken to the "Release Info" page. Hopefully very few of our users are affected by this.
We've decided to install this script so our users are aware of the problems associated with these programs, and so they can keep their computers clean. If you have any questions or comments about this, please feel free to email us.
