If you're still looking for that last-minute Christmas gift for the TV-DVD lover you know, then we've got a few suggestions for you. In the spirit of
our Oct, 2005 article, we would like to follow up with a list of more than a dozen new TV-themed DVD board games that have come on the market since then:
Of course, all of that is in addition to the
Deal or No Deal game we talked about last July. There's a lot of good stuff up there, and many of these can be found at Target, Wal-Mart, Borders, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Circuit City, and - for
Password, Newlywed Game and the previously-out
Price Is Right - even at Walgreens Drug stores!
A few of these have been out a while. On the other hand, some of these are very super-new, and might even be "coming soon". Note that I have not personally seen in stores the following:
American Chopper, Let's Make A Deal, The Apprentice, Survivor, Match Game. I've seen the rest, including multiple types of boxes for
Time Troopers.
Also of interest is the latest item from the guys who started it all.
Scene It? Marvel Deluxe 2-DVD Edition is in stores now, but from the looks of the box (or tin, actually), I'm not sure if any of the TV series based on Marvel characters are in there...the images on the cover are all about the recent movie versions of
X-Men, Hulk, Fantastic Four and
Spider-Man. Still, with a wealth of Marvel superheroes filmed for television, both in live action and in animated form, and with 2 DVDs to cover for this game, I would find it unbelievable if the Scene It? Marvel Edition didn't fall into the "TV-DVD" category, too.
UPDATE: No, it only concentrates on the films and comic books. Unbelievable, but true!
I expect to find all of these under my tree, Santa!
