This isn't a usual TV-DVD, but we think it's still worth mentioning to our readers. Similar to the Fox Network Preview DVD this past June, featuring The Simple Life 2: Road Trip, Best Buy is giving away a new sampler DVD that gives people a look at NBC's new Fall season.

Starting tomorrow, August 24th, Best Buy is giving away a DVD highlighting the new NBC Fall TV Lineup. Take your first look at several new series, including the highly anticipated Friends spin-off, Joey.

The fine print reads: "No Purshase Necessary, Limit One Per Customer, Minimum 30 per Store, No Rainchecks, In Store Only". Here's a look at the off, as printed on page 12 (upper right corner) in this week's Best Buy ad circular:

UPDATE 8/24:
We've gotten a couple of e-mails today that say "these aren't free; they are marked $4.99 each". True. But I (David) went out at mid-day today and purchased a few DVDs from Best Buy (and no, The Apprentice wasn't among them) and my copy rung up at $4.99 as marked. But when the transaction was totaled out, the register automatically reduced the price to $0, and "bundled" it with the first item on my receipt. If the clerk had to do anything special, I didn't notice it; it all seemed automatic. In the end, though, my net cost for this NBC Preview DVD was "free".

The circular doesn't specify that this is "free with purchase"...but then again, it doesn't specify that it's "free", either. However, if you think you didn't get it free, check your receipt to see if you actually got charged. If so, or if you simply left without getting it because you thought it was going to cost you five dollars, then call the store and ask for the store manager, or if they won't help, ask for the number to the district manager. I'm sure things will be straightened out for you.

Update #2:
Joey isn't one of the featured new shows after all. The six shows featured are: LAX, Hawaii, Medium, Revelations, Medical Invesitgation and Sylvester Stallone's The Contender. Also look for an interesting trailer on board, showing off Universal's 2004 TV-on-DVD offerings. Plus a coupon good for $3 off The Munsters or four other titles (when purchased at Best Buy), if you can access the DVD-ROM file which contains it.
