A few weeks ago we
warned you that
The Day After would be coming to DVD in May, according to a Rumor Mill post at TheDigitalBits.com. This 1983 made-for-TV movie, starring the likes of Jason Robards, JoBeth Williams, Steve Guttenberg, John Lithgow, Bibi Beach, and Amy Madigan, is one of the most sought-after items that consumers have been wanting to come to DVD.
Well, it's rumored no more. Retailers like
Amazon.com and
DVDEmpire.com put it up for pre-order yesterday, making it a fact. Here's what the latter has to say about it:

In this cautionary tale, a small-town in Kansas is destroyed by a nuclear missile attack. Picking through the rubble left in the aftermath, survivors form into lawless clans in an effort to stay alive before the effects of radiation kill them or the sheer misery of it all drives them insane.

The exact release date is
