In a
USA Today article posted today, our friend TK Arnold spoke to Warner Bros and MGM about classic TV titles they're looking into.
Warner Bros holds one of the largest (possibly THE largest) TV cataglogs. They've identified nearly 30 titles they want to release in the next 5 years, including
77 Sunset Strip,
Maverick and
F Troop.
The first TV title from MGM was the classic
Outer Limits series (released the same day as the updated version), and they've recently released
Green Acres: Season One and
The Best of Mister Ed on DVD. The article says that they're considering releasing
Flipper,
My Mother the Car,
The Patty Duke Show and
Seahunt.
If you're a fan of classic TV it looks like you'll have a lot to look forward to.
*Note: The titles mentioned in the article have not been officially announced by their studios. While it's a good sign that they were mentioned, please do not confuse this as an official product announcement. We don't have any more information on the other titles Warner Bros might release over the next 5 years but when we hear anything new we'll post it to the site.
