CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment have announced that on
May 26th they will release two "Special DVD Collection" titles, each containing a number of episodes from different television shows under the umbrella of these studios. These two titles are in the style of last October's
T.V. Sets: Holiday Treats DVD, which contained eight Christmas-themed episodes from classic television sitcoms. One of the new releases is also sitcom-based, while the other takes a more adventurous route to entertainment.
TV Sets: Action Packed brings home 4 episodes, one each from
MacGyver, Walker: Texas Ranger, Mission: Impossible and
NCIS. Although we don't have a specific episode list, the word is that these will be the "first episodes" from each of those shows. Running time on this single disc is 237 minutes, with full screen video. The audio will be in various formats (English mono, English stereo, English 5.1), each according to the show portrayed. It is closed captioned for the hearing impaired. Front cover art is below.
TV Sets: Forever Funny contains 7 episodes from seven series:
I Love Lucy ("The Girls Want to Go to a Nightclub"),
The Odd Couple ("The Laundry Orgy"),
The Honeymooners ("TV or Not TV"),
Taxi ("Like Father, Like Daughter"),
The Brady Bunch ("The Honeymoon"),
Frasier ("The Good Son") and
Cheers (Give Me a Ring Sometime). Each is presented in full screen video, with either English mono or English stereo sound. Running time is 173 minutes, and it is closed captioned for the hearing impaired. Front and rear cover art is below.
