Hey, we're kinda jumping in here with shorter notice than usual, but we didn't want to forget to mention that today's installment of
Stu's Show on Shokus Internet Radio will include classic television writer Mark Evanier! Here is the announce info:
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 2008
STU'S SHOW (LIVE, 4:00 p.m. PDT/7:00 p.m. EDT, with rebroadcasts daily at the same time, except on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. PDT/1:00 p.m. EDT) - Comedy writer/producer/animation expert MARK EVANIER returns for his first 2008 visit. We'll talk about Mark's new book on Jack Kirby, as well as all things "Garfield and Friends" - the animated hit that Mark wrote and produced for 8 seasons. There'll be some surprises along the way, too!
You'll be able to tune in at
www.shokusradio.com, and IF they're taking call-in questions (that's usually the case) then the toll-free number is (888) SHOKUS-5 (746-5875). Mark is the main man behind
Garfield and Friends, which has
a new DVD on the way. He was also a writer on other classic cartoons, including
Dungeons & Dragons, as well as episodes of various live-action programs as well. Maybe he'll talk about what it was to co-write
an episode of The Love Boat that featured one of the
Kotter "Sweathog" actors trying to lose his virginity to "Marcia Brady":

I've got to admit I flipped when I saw those credits come on-screen while watching the recently released
Love Boat DVDs! Don't recognize the name of Mark's co-writer, Dennis Palumbo, right off the top of your head? FYI: Palumbo wrote the story and screenplay behind the wonderful Richard Benjamin-directed film
My Favorite Year, which paired Peter O'Toole (as an Errol Flynn-type actor) with Mark Linn-Baker (who went on to co-star in
Perfect Strangers).
Be sure to tune in!
