It's been just a week and a day since
we opened up a Facebook fan page, incorporating our feed of TV-DVD news headlines and reviews, while providing a new way for our readers to communicate both with us, and with each other! And we've had a HUGE response from our friends and fans over there, with over 1500 people signing up to our page in just 8 days! We're overwhelmed with the response, and we wanted to take a minute this morning and say "thank you." And a special shout-out to A.J. Crumley of Los Angeles for being #1500 on the list. We're pleased that you're all pleased!
In case you haven't made it to our Facebook fan page yet, we hope you find a minute to drop by and check it out. We've made it even easier to remember how to get there: the web address is now "
www.FaceBook.com/TVShowsOnDVD" (don't worry about upper or lower case letter, though...we just do that here to make it easier to read). We've got reader conversations going on in the "Discussions" tab. In the "Photo" tab we've got pictures loaded by both fans and by TVShowsOnDVD staff (check out my own shots taken at "Cooter's Place" in the Smokies...home of one of the General Lee cars from
The Dukes of Hazzard).
This morning we've added something new: The "What's The Hold-up?" FAQ. You'll find it on the Notes tabs at our Facebook fan page, and it's an attempt to dip into those Frequently Asked Questions about "why isn't such-and-such on DVD yet?," or "why aren't more DVDs put out for this show?" The honest answer to most of these questions is "we don't know." But when there is a known issue keeping the DVDs from getting done, we will try to pass it along there. We've kick-started it this morning with the programs that our Facebook fans have been asking about most for the past week and a day. We're sure that we'll add to it, and keep it updated, as time goes on. So check it out, and keep an eye on it. And tell all your friends!

over at Twitter, either! We're grateful for all of you, too, and we're not only keeping you updated with the latest news and reviews, but we're added extra content over there, too. For example, we've had exclusive pictures loaded up via the "TwitPic" service, with planned to come in the future.
On Fridays we honor Twitter's "Follow Friday" tradition with links to the Twitter accounts of TV-related personalities that you may want to follow and tweet with; today I made it "one for the ladies" with folks like Alyssa Milano, Tamera Mowry (we did Tia last week, in honor of
The Game on DVD), Fran Drescher, Marlee Matlin, Oprah Winfrey, Christina Applegate, Holly Robinson Peete, Jenna Elfman and Soleil Moon Frye (who recently posted an "adult Punky" picture on Twitter in honor of passing 1 million followers!).
And today, with the Labor Day weekend coming up, Gord is kicking off the discussion over on Twitter by asking "Which studio is your favorite?" So head on over and chime in. We've had a lively response so far, but we would sure like to get your 2ยข worth!
