Blockbuster has
announced that they have struck a deal with NBC for a few of their upcoming TV shows, making complete episodes of three new series available on DVD for a special sneak preview, plus a 2-minute preview of a fourth new Fall Season show that the peacock network has high expectations for.
Chuck ("a computer nerd turned secret agent"),
Journeyman ("a time traveling newspaper reporter") and
Life ("an ex-convict returns to his former life on the police force") will each get their full pilot episodes on this special disc, while
Bionic Woman (a modern re-imagining of the popular '70s classic) gets the more abbreviated peek.
If this sounds familiar, it is! Last year
NetFlix had an NBC Fall sneak preview disc to rent, and in years previous to that
Best Buy had exclusive NBC preview discs. It looks like NBC spreads the wealth around to a different retailer each year!
This year's disc will be available as a free rental both in participating Blockbuster store locations and at Blockbuster Online. Standard rental rules apply for both (membership rules, in-store late fees, etc.). It is only available for rental until October 21st. Here's a look at the box art:
