Last week Amazon began sales (which are still going) for
Fox and Sony, and yesterday we told you about a new Amazon sale
for Disney that includes TV-DVDs. Now we've got another pair of sales to tell you about: Warner Home Video and Universal Studios!
We've gotten a number of e-mails from readers last night and this morning, telling us that Amazon's got a sale on
Friends or that they're giving a break on
Oz or saying that the prices on
Flintstones sets are cheaper than normal, etc. These shows and many others are all part of
Amazon's "Save up to 60% on TV DVDs" sale, featuring titles distributed by Warner Home Video. That means you'll be able to choose from Warner Brothers titles like
Full House, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, The West Wing, The O.C., Dallas, Nip/Tuck, One Tree Hill, Murphy Brown, Adventures of Superman, ThunderCats, Huckleberry Hound, Magilla Gorilla and a number of the single-disc "Television Favorites discs for shows like
Alice, Step by Step and
Chico and the Man. But the sale also has HBO and BBC produced titles like
Sopranos, Everybody Loves Raymond, Rome, Curb Your Enthusiasm, From the Earth to the Moon, Entourage, Sex and the City, Martin, Extras, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Good Neighbors, French & Saunders, As Time Goes By, Hustle, Planet Earth, Are You Being Served?, MI-5 and original versions of
The Office and
Coupling.
A much smaller (but very similarly named) promotion for Universal titles can be found at
Amazon's "Save 60% on These TV DVDs" sale. You can get season sets of
Leave it to Beaver, The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, Magnum P.I. and
Murder, She Wrote for $16.99-$19.99! There are only a couple of choices per show, but if you need to fill a gap in your collection, or need help with a gift for the upcoming season, then take a look.

Yes, sometimes another retailer will have an even better price than one at the links we provide. We get a number of e-mails daily about this ("so-and-so's got a better price than Amazon does on that title"), and we explain about all of this to every sender of those, so each understands why we're not posting their info at the site. We wanted to post the same info here, and publicly acknowledge that these are, in fact, advertisements that help to support the site in a less intrusive way than pop-up ads and spam that you get across so much of the internet.
