Silverhawks - The Battle Against Mon*Star Comes to DVD at Last: Season 1, Vol. 1 Announced!

An October debut for the first long-awaited set

Posted by David Lambert
Way back during this past October, we gave you the gossip that Silverhawks was on Warner's radar screen for DVD release, and that we could expect it sometime in the second half of 2008. Unfounded rumors? Not at all...this morning Warner Home Video made the release official!!

Silverhawks - Season 1, Volume 1 has been announced for release on October 14th. Cost is $44.98 SRP. No other details were available with the studio's initial release info this morning. But there were 65 episodes in the show's one and only season, which originally aired late in 1986. The classic animated series was produced by Rankin/Bass, and starred voice-over great Bob McFadden (ThunderCats, Cool McCool, The Year Without a Santa Claus, Milton the Monster, and many TerryToons shorts...a short portion of his long list of work). Other voice cast includes Earl Hammond (ThunderCats, Galaxy Rangers) and Maggie Wheeler (best known as Chandler's recurring girlfriend "Janice" in the early seasons of Friends).

Stay tuned for more info about the DVD release, including cover art, just as soon as Warner makes it available!
