Back in October we
reported that Cannell Productions and Mill Creek Entertainment had signed a new DVD distribution deal for Cannell's programs, and that one of them would be a certain guilty pleasure that began life in 1991 as part of the CBS "Crimetime After Primetime" lineup. Today
an Amazon pre-order listing has been found for
Silk Stalkings - Season 1, a
March 9th re-release of the set that Anchor Bay first put out five years ago. This new version from Mill Creek, however, is a 4-DVD set for the inexpensive price of just $14.98 SRP. Package art isn't available so far, but stay tuned.
We know that fans who picked up the first 5 seasons on DVD, back when Anchor Bay originally released them, are impatient that Mill Creek has decided to start over again from the beginning. Those fans would rather the new studio just immediately jump to Seasons 6, 7 and 8 so they can get the missing-on-DVD episodes, OR put out an inexpensive "complete series" set. There are folks who feel the same way about other Mill Creek releases of Cannell shows (
Renegade, for example). The studio has been made aware of this feedback; we don't know yet what they'll do with it, but we'll continue (of course) inform you of all DVD news for this show, as we get it. Don't touch that dial!
