The Shield -Season 6 DVDs are NOT Coming to North America in March

We've had a number of people write in to mention they've seen The Shield - Season 6 up for sale at online retailers (such as Amazon), with a March 25 release date (though it's coming out overseas in a few weeks). The seventh season hasn't been scheduled yet to air on F/X, so Sony (who took over distribution from Fox) isn't in a rush to get the season out: they'll wait so they can tie in the DVD debut for Season 6 with the broadcast debut for Season 7. On the other hand, this delay has allowed them to record some additional episode commentaries to appear on the Region 1 release. However, these won't be done in time for the foreign DVD release.
So, the bad news is that the set won't be out later this month, but the delay has allowed them time for more bonus material. I think we can all agree that more commentary tracks with Shawn Ryan is a good thing! Of course we'll bring you the news once The Shield - Season 6 is announced.
