Even though we're not expecting the formal announcement of
She-Ra: Princess of Power - Season 1, Volume 1 to come for another week-and-a-half, we've already gotten the release date and cost of this highly-anticipated set thanks to the coverage at this week's VSDA show in Las Vegas! BCI and their Ink-And-Paint brand of animated releases are planning a formal announcement of many new titles at the end of next week, and this one is among them.
As we've reported, that announcement comes on Friday July 21st, at the San Diego Comic-Con, in a late afternoon session.
However, trade magazine
Home Media Retailing is at the VSDA show in Vegas this week (as is our very own Gord Lacey), and
HMR's trade show special supplement has listed
She-Ra: Princess of Power - Season 1, Volume 1 with a release date of
October 10th. Cost is shown to be $49.98 SRP, which is keeping right in line with BCI's
He-Man season sets. Expect this to be the first of 3 box set releases to cover all of
She-Ra's 93 episodes. We'll have more info (such as extras) for you by the end of next week, and probably cover art as well. Stay tuned!
IMPORTANT UPDATE!
BCI has just informed us that the release date which Home Media Retailing provided in their VSDA supplement is incorrect. The actual release date for She-Ra: Princess of Power - Season 1, Volume 1 is NOVEMBER 7TH. TVShowsOnDVD regrets passing along the error, and we thank BCI for their assistance in providing correct information.
