Last week
we broke the news about the
November 10th release date for
Sesame Street - 40 Years of Sunny Days on DVD, also passing along that it will be a 330-minute set with a list price of $29.93 SRP. Today distributor Genius Entertainment has revealed the following "key selling points" to retailers, which give us more insight into the contents of the release. Here's an exact copy-and-paste of that studio-provided info:
Includes over 5 hours of iconic Sesame Street segments including "Rubber Duckie," "Lady Bug Picnic" and Elmo's first appearance plus celebrity guests such as Robert de Niro, Destiny's Child, Alicia Keys and more! Bonus features include trivia, exclusive never-before-seen behind the scenes footage and a peek into how your favorite characters come to life! Includes a limited edition, hard cover commemorative book!
Fans are very excited about the never-seen "backstage footage" that will be included on this set. They're also pleased as punch that the street date picked turns out to be forty years - to the exact day! - since the show premiered. As originally broadcast, the DVD's video is full frame and the audio is English. Amazon (see button link below to pre-order) shows this to be a 2-disc set, but they also show an incorrect running time (360 minutes, vs. 330 in the studio-provided material), and the studio info doesn't list a disc count, so we're not actually positive of the number of DVDs enclosed yet. "2" could still be correct, though...maybe we need to ask The Count to be sure? Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!
