Yesterday's brand-new print issue of trade journal
Home Media Magazine reports in their "News Briefs" section (on page six) that online retailer Amazon.com has teamed up with Sesame Workshop and SW's DVD distributor, Genius Entertainment, on a new fan survey for
Sesame Street. According to John Latchem's story, the fans may visit Amazon and vote for one of 10 clips, taken from various episodes. The clips include such memorable moments as "Alligator King," "Elmo's Debut," "Martian Beauty Song" and "Bert & Ernie: String Tied" (which is the current leader). Latchem goes on to explain that "...the winning clip will be featured in the
Sesame Street: 40 Years of Sunny Days DVD slated for November."
Voting began on April 1st, and lasts through April 28th. While the link provided in
HMM's story didn't work for me, personally, nor for a number of fans who wrote in, I did find
a link to the poll which does work. There's also a link there to a sale at Amazon for existing
Sesame Street DVDs, indicating that it's for folks who may want them for the little ones as Easter gifts (so we presume the sale will only continue during this current week). Head over and vote for now, and then stay tuned. We'll update you on the specific release date, and the finalized contents, once Genius officially announces it!
