Many of our longtime readers who think of the Falcon Pictures Group will remember them for their
TV Guide-branded DVD releases in 2004, done in co-operation with distributor Genius Products. More recently, though, they had joined forces with Infinity Resources, the Illinois firm which owns online retailers DVDPlanet.com, DeepDiscountDVD.com and CCVideo.com, for a series of "exclusive- to-those-sites" releases of TV-DVDs such as
Sergeant Preston of the Yukon and
Hopalong Cassidy.
Earlier this year we
passed on trade magazine reports that Infinity Resources had spun off a new retail arm, Infinity Entertainment, and had made a deal to also produce DVDs for the "Mojo" linep of shows from the INHD hi-def network. While our report at the time concentrated on the Mojo titles, we wrapped that report by talking about how the lineup of classic TV-DVD titles which used to be "DeepDiscountDVD exclusives" would continue, but would now be distributed widely, both in brick-and-mortar stores and at other online retailers, including Amazon.com!
On
July 24th, Infinity is brining out two different releases, and one of them is
Sergeant Preston of the Yukon - The Complete Collection. List-pricing at $79.98, this set can be
pre-ordered at Amazon for $71.99. It is presumed to have all the material previously released by Infinity as "DeepDiscountDVD Exclusives" for Seasons 1, 2 and 3. Box art is not yet available. Thanks to one of our best readers, "Todd," for his heads-up about this release.
