A brand-new BBC mini-series of Jane Austen's
Sense and Sensibility - starring David Morrissey, Janet McTeer, Dominic Cooper, Dan Stevens and Jean Marsh - is going to begin airing in the USA (on
Masterpiece) this coming March 30th. This new version is adapted by Andrew Davies (
Bleak House, Bridget Jones's Diary). BBC Home Video and distributor Warner Home Video are already planning a DVD release of this 3-part production, which will release on
April 8th.
It will include Interviews with Andrew Davies and with producer Anne Pivcevic, Audio Commentary from Cast and Crew, Deleted Scenes, and a Photo Gallery. An additional added bonus on this will be Anne Pivcevic's production of
Miss Austen Regrets, a 90-minute biopic based in part on letters written by Jane Austen. It also can be found on PBS's
Masterpiece this coming February 8th, and you'll find it on these discs, running $34.98 SRP.
This BBC release of
Sense and Sensibility will also be available in a collector's set release of the recent BBC telefilm of Jane Austen's
Persuastion, which first aired in the USA last month. That version of the package will be available on the same date for $49.98 SRP.
