This past Tuesday, on February 8th, DVD Exclusive (a sister magazine of
Variety and
Video Business) presented the 5th Annual DVD Exclusive Awards. During the presentation,
Seinfeld - Vol 1 - Seasons 1 & 2 was awarded the DVD Exclusive Award for "Best Overall DVD, TV Program (including all bonus features)." Other nominees were
24 - Season 3,
Arrested Development - Season 1,
Curb Your Enthusiasm - The Complete 1st Season, and
The Simpsons - The Complete 5th Season. The award was presented by none other than Bob Newhart.
With both
Seinfeld and
Curb Your Enthusiasm among the nominees, and the former taking the prize, it's no wonder that Larry David - creator of both series and star of the latter - took home an extra prize! He was named TV DVD Performer of the Year and was honored with the new Johnny Carson Award, named in memory of the late host of
The Tonight Show.

the story at DVD Exclusive Online. Congrats to Larry David and the entire group of people behind
Seinfeld - a very deserving win!
