A week-and-a-half ago we
noted that Visual Entertainment Inc.'s release of
In Search of... - The Complete Collection then-current release date of December 4th - that very day - was apparently not made as scheduled, as no retailer showed the item in stock. At the time VEI's online store shows a 12/7 ship date, but they soon adjusted that to 12/6, a day earlier, which it continues to show...but it also says, "
Not available for shipping to Canada."
When
asked about this by north-of-the-border customers at their Facebook page, VEI responded that "
It is a private business decision from the studio that owns the show." This made people worried that Amazon.ca, the Canadian branch of the big e-tailer, would not fulfill their pre-orders. Indeed, some fans reported on VEI's Facebook page that Amazon.ca informed them to expect that their orders would be cancelled outright! However, the pre-order listing there showed that the item would be in stock today,
December 14th.
And the great news is that IS the case...for both Amazon.ca (Canada) and Amazon.com (USA)!! One of our readers, "Steve," wrote to say "
I just wanted to let you know I just received an email from Amazon.ca letting me know my copy of In Search of..., starring Leonard Nimoy, is shipping out to me today. I am a Canadian customer, who pre-ordered from Amazon.ca. Thought you would like to know, after all the delays with this release." And indeed, if you check the button links below for Amazon (both .com and .ca), you'll see it showing as "in stock" as of this writing. So it really seems to be happening! We wanted to let you all know that VEI has come through with this long-awaited (and highly-anticipated) title, just like we've said all along they would!
