The epic '80s spy adventure series,
Scarecrow and Mrs. King: it's ranked #6 on the TVShowsOnDVD list of "Most Requested Unreleased Shows" (a list which appears on the user stats page, every time a registered member of the site logs in). The last time we got a chance to ask the studio about this title was a bit over a year ago, during
the 2008 online chat with Warner Home Video, hosted by the Home Theater Forum. At the time, I asked about this show, among others, and we were told "
No plans currently on Scarecrow...but we recognize there is interest".
More recently, though, rumors have circulated in a couple of places on the web, such as on one of the Yahoo Groups, that said the studio was looking at moving forward on this. One of our readers, "Janice" (thanks!), sent us the heads-up about this, information, obviously posted by spies (forgive us, we couldn't resist!). We checked in with Warner Home Video, naturally, and they've got great news for
Scarecrow and Mrs. King fans! The show, starring Bruce Boxleitner (
Tron, Babylon 5) and Kate Jackson (
Charlie's Angels, The Rookies), is coming to DVD in
2010. No specific release date or other details are available yet, but stay tuned and we'll fill you in on all of that, just as soon as Warner finalizes their plans and makes them available to us.
