Saturday Night Live - This Tuesday's Starbucks-Exclusive SNL DVD Has a 30 Rock Episode

And Other 30 Rock Material, in addition to SNL...for a great price!

Posted by David Lambert
Last month we reported on the exclusive Starbucks Coffee release in the USA of Saturday Night Live - The Best of '06/'07. This DVD begins selling this coming Tuesday, August 28th, and any stand-alone Starbucks location (don't count on finding it at those smaller-type locations that are within a larger store, or at a mall or airport, etc.). Beside the disc containing 84 minutes of the best skits from SNL's most recent season (such as Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake's "Dick in a Box"), in our previous story we quoted The Hollywood Reporter in saying that there would also be "a bonus '30 Rock' DVD, which features deleted scenes from the NBC sitcom's first season."

Now, thanks to longtime reader (and contributer!) Eric Schulz, who we sent our gratitude to for all the tips and info he's ever provided to TVShowsOnDVD, we now know a bit more about that 30 Rock bonus DVD. Eric's managed to get an advance peek at this release, and he tells us that there is an episode of 30 Rock on the bonus disc: "Black Tie." That's in addition to the deleted scenes, and then there's a featurette, too! All of that ought to be in addition to extras on the main SNL disc, which we've heard includes Audio Commentary from the show's cast and writers, 2 Never-Before-Seen sketches that were cut after dress rehearsal, and the funniest outtakes from Weekend Update with co-anchors Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler.

Again, our thanks to Eric for the info. The cost at Starbucks coffeehouses in the USA, starting this Tuesday, is going to be $16.95. I personally don't drink coffee...but I think I can find a Starbucks in my neighborhood! For those of you in Canada, the main DVD should be available for general release at retail on the 11th of September, distributed by Maple Pictures.
