Route 66 - The Complete Season 3 Drives Exclusively into Best Buy Next Tuesday!

We've that Route 66's upcoming general retail release schedule, as laid out by Infinity Entertainment and Roxbury Entertainment, is going to be as follows:

• July 21, 2009: Route 66 - Season 3, Volume 1
• October 20, 2009: Route 66 - Season 3, Volume 2
• January 12, 2010: Route 66 - The Complete Season 3

We also mentioned in a report previous to that how Infinity-owned Critic's Choice Video (CCVideo.com) could potentially get Route 66 - The Complete Season 3 earlier than other sellers, as an exclusive offer. Well, such an exclusive early IS indeed happening, but not at Critic's Choice!

We've spoken to employees at Best Buy, who say that Route 66 - The Complete Season 3 is in the back rooms of their stores right now, holding for an exclusive-to-Best-Buy early release this coming Tuesday, July 14th. The title is not anywhere to be found on BestBuy.com, at least at this time, even when looking it up with the sku (stock keeping unit, the chain's id # for this product). It looks like this will be in-store only.

Since pricing could possibly vary from location to location, and since the title could also possibly go on sale next week (no guarantees!), we're not going to bring up cost here, beyond saying that the list price of the general retail release next January will be $49.98 SRP. Box art isn't available yet either, but perhaps it will be in Best Buy's weekly ad circular this Sunday.
