Route 66 - Is There a Possible Upgrade Path for Consumers Who Bought the Half-Season Sets?

Rumors say that Season 1 owners can get fixed episodes by appealing to Infinity's customer service

Back in late April we reported that Infinity Entertainment had recognized that there were customer complaints with the two previously-released half-season DVD sets for the first season of Roxbury Entertainment's Route 66. Those two half-season releases, which came out in Oct. 2007 and Feb. 2008, respectively, had various issues which Infinity plans to correct with their upcoming August 5th release of Route 66 - The Complete 1st Season (shown below).

Since our report, fans have been wondering what kind of program, if any, that Infinity would offer to consumers who purchased the "bad" half-season DVD sets: would there be some sort of upgrade path to get the DVDs with corrected episodes? It has been our thought that it might be a bit too early to look for this yet, though, since the new "fixed" versions aren't in stores for many weeks yet.

However, word is starting to leak out that something may be happening after all. Infinity hasn't confirmed anything officially, but we've heard that off-the-record the studio is making sure customers who contact them about this matter get some form of satisfaction. No one has said exactly what this is, yet, so we don't have details for you. We've been told to call Infinity at 714-385-8470 to inquire about this. Take it with a grain of salt, though, as we've yet to get confirmation from a bona fide customer who has gone through with this. Give it a try!
