Coming up in just a week and a half now is the February 5th release of Route 66 - Season 1, Volume 2, which we've already told you about, and shown you front box art for. Here's a quick look at the rear art for that item, which shows that there ARE extras on this release (we were previously told there would not be). You'll find classic TV commercials, and also Filmographies of Stars and Special Guests. Among those guests are the recently deceased Suzanne Pleshette, and others you'll see listed on that art. Below that picture we'll cover the *3* new releases planned for afterward. Okay? Here we go!

A week later on February 12th Infinity Entertainment will release a smaller 6-episode, 1-DVD item called Route 66 - Classic Episodes Vol.1 for just $14.98 SRP:
Six One Hour Episodes Digitally Transferred from Original Masters, hand selected from all seasons. Episodes Include 'Eleven the Hard Way' (Walter Mattau), 'The Strengthening Angels' (Suzanne Pleshette), 'And the Cat Jumped Over the Moon' (James Caan and Martin Sheen), 'Poor Little Kangaroo Rat' (Ron Howard and Leslie Neilsen), 'Soda Pop and Paper Flags' (Alan Alda), 'A Cage in Search of a Bird'.

If that mid-size car is still too "big" for you, try the subcompact on March 18th: Route 66 - Super Series Vol. 1, which contains only 3 episodes for just $9.98:
Three hand selected One-Hour Episodes Digitally Transferred from Original Masters. Episodes Include 'Eleven the Hard Way' (Walter Mattau), 'And the Cat Jumped Over the Moon' (James Caan and Martin Sheen), and 'Lizards' Leg and Owlet's Wing' (Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre, Lon Chaney).

Don't want to scale down, but instead prefer to go large and luxurious? Don't worry; a recent chat with Kirk Hallam (owner of Roxbury Entertainment, which controls Route 66) says that sales have been encouraging for the first half-season set, and that "The first installment of Season Two is set for May." A precise date isn't available yet, but stay tuned and we'll let you know what that becomes available. Be sure to head over to that site, the "Route 66 News" blog, for the entire chat with Hallam. Our thanks to longtime reader Bob Huggins for pointing us toward it in the first place!
