Rome - Separate Season Sets Announced in Blu-ray Format for Both Seasons

Available individually in high-def versions starting in early June

Four hundred years after the founding of the Republic, Rome is the wealthiest city in the world, a cosmopolitan metropolis of one million people; epicenter of a sprawling empire. The Republic was founded on principles of shared power and fierce personal competition, never allowing one man to seize absolute control. But now, those foundations are crumbling, eaten away by corruption and excess.

After eight years of war, two soldiers, Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo unwittingly become entwined in the historical events of ancient Rome. A serialized drama of love and betrayal, masters and slaves, husbands and wives, ROME chronicles a turbulent era that saw the death of the republic and the birth of an empire.
Late in 2009 HBO Video released Rome - The Complete Series Gift Set on Blu-ray, with both seasons of the show offered on the high-def home video format for the first time. Today HBO and distributor Warner Home Video announced that they will offer both season sets on Blu-ray Disc individually for the first time. These BD versions of Rome - The Complete 1st Season and Rome - The Complete 2nd Season will be available separately starting on June 7th, at a cost of $69.98 SRP each. The 5-disc sets each come with all of the bonus material found on the previous DVD-format season sets, plus include an interactive screen guide called "Bloodlines" (originally found on the complete series BD set). The picture is in widescreen 1080p full HD video, and the sound is in DTS 5.1 Master Audio. Here is a look at the packaging for both titles:
