Earlier this year we
passed the word that
Rodney - The Complete 1st Season would be available on DVD exclusively in Walmart stores as of May 19th. The releasing studio, which is Capitol-EMI Records (a.k.a. CEMA), is now planning on moving foward with making this same set available in a "wide" general retail release, available
through Amazon.com and all other interested sellers. The street date for that is
October 6th. The price continues to be $19.98 SRP for the same 4-disc set with 22 episodes.
On the same day,
October 6th, Walmart will also begin exclusively selling
Rodney - The Complete 2nd Season, which contained the final 22 episodes of the series (including 6 that were unaired during the original ABC run). As with the first season set, this is listed as having full screen video and English audio. However, readers who bought the first season set tell us it was actually in widescreen. The running time shown is 471 minutes, and the cost is again $19.98 SRP. Our thanks to reader Jared Munson for the heads-up on the
Season 2 info. Cover art isn't displayed for either season at this time, but we'll post it if we can get our hands on it, so stay tuned!
