Last week we brought you news that the pilot for The Rockford Files would appear on the second season DVD set, but fans became concerned when this was labeled "Backlash of the Hunter." When the pilot was first broadcast on TV it was simply known as "The Rockford Files," but was later edited into 2, 50 minute episodes for syndication, and renamed "Backlash of the Hunter." Fans wrote in to tell us they wanted the original version of the pilot, not the 2-part edited version
We contacted Universal about this issue and were told that it's going to be the original, uncut pilot that's included on the Season 2 set. They're also going to change the wording of the packaging and menus, so there isn't any confusion. Sounds good to us!
