A couple of weeks ago we had the sad duty to bring you some bad news: that Warner Home Video of Canada had
issued a cancellation notice for the planned 11/27 release (in Canada only) of
Rocket Robin Hood. All 52 episodes of the show (which was worked on by animation legend Ralph Bakshi) were supposed to be released on that day, split evenly between two separate multi-DVD volumes.
No reason was given by Warner for the change, but this past week our own Gord Lacey managed to get in touch with Seville Pictures, the people behind these releases (and who Warner would be distributing the DVDs for). The folks at Seville inform him that the cause of the cancellation of the November date is that there was a problem with French tracks on 3 of the episodes. So they delayed the release in order to fix these, and they're now looking for a release in the first half of 2008!
It's great news to know that there is a good, quality assurance related reason behind this schedule change, and even better to know that it's still coming later on! Stay tuned and we'll bring you the new release date, as well as box art, just as soon as they are ready!
