We've been keeping you informed about
Planet of the Apes - The Ultimate DVD Collection, and the other day we
posted in-depth disc-by-disc details about this upcoming 14-DVD set which includes the
Planet of the Apes 1974 live-action TV series and the 1975
Return to the Planet of the Apes cartoon TV show, along with anamorphic remastered versions of the films (which will also be sold separately). Our friends over at DVDActive.com (formerly DVDAnswers.com), which is based in the U.K., have obtained pictures of the packaging for Region 1 (North America). The "ape head" looks exactly like the Region 2 version we showed in our previous post, but the digipak and disc label art are different, plus there is a pic of the outer box as well.
We've made a trade with the folks there, and let them lift the disc-by-disc specs from our previous news story, in exchange for them sending over the packaging pics that they got from Fox's marketing folks. Here's a look at those, re-worked just a bit in order to fit our screens here at TVShowsOnDVD:
