Rescue Me - 3rd Season Planned for Both DVD and Blu-ray Disc

Sony is gathering their plans for Rescue Me - The Complete 3rd Season on home video. They are looking at the traditional DVD release, of course, just ahead of the fourth season's on-air debut. But plans include a Blu-ray Disc release also! In either format, you are looking at a 4-disc set with 13 episodes that include guest appearances by the likes of Tatum O'Neal, Charles Durning, Marisa Tomei, Taylor Dayne and Susan Sarandon. Denis Leary stars, of course!
In addition to the episodes, look for "exclusive bonus features with the cast and producers," plus a possible sneak peak at the new fourth season. No word yet as to whether the Blu-ray Disc and the DVD versions will have the same extras, but I wouldn't necessarily count on it. Either way, though, the video will be widescreen, the audio will be 5.1 Surround Sound, and the running time will be 571 minutes for the featured episodes. Cost will be $49.95 SRP for DVD, and $79.95 SRP for Blu-ray. At the moment the plans are for a June 5th street date, but it is highly subject to change! Stay tuned for cover art and any updates.
