Whether he's pulling survivors from out-of-control blazes or from the twisted steel of a subway collision, firefighter Tommy Gavin (Executive Producer and Star Denis Leary) takes great pride in leading the heroic, but often overwhelmed, firefighters of New York City's Truck Company 62. Gavin is a man wrestling with intense feelings of sorrow and anger due to his recent separation from his wife (Andrea Roth) and recurring memories of the comrades and victims he failed to save. Leary and multiple Emmy Award-winning writer/producer Peter Tolan (The Larry Sanders Show, Murphy Brown), the team behind the critically acclaimed cop drama The Job, have re-teamed as the creators, writers and executive producers of Rescue Me.
The 2004 F/X series Rescue Me follows a group of New York City firefighters as they face acute danger on a daily basis while coping with personal issues and dealing with the grief surrounding colleagues fallen in action.
