THE RED GREEN SHOW: 1999 SEASON
On DVD February 26, 2008

16 Classic Episodes from the Hit Backwoods Comedy

SILVER SPRING, MD - Acorn Media announces the February 26, 2008 DVD release of The Red Green Show: 1999 Season, the crowd-pleasing Canadian comedy and PBS hit still running in syndication.

Armed with power tools, off-kilter advice, and preposterous inventions, Red Green and his pals from Possum Lodge amassed a giant fan base during the show's 15-year run, which ended in April 2006 with exactly 300 episodes. Creator and star Steve Smith features north-of-the-border handyman humor in the vein of Home Improvement, which also debuted on television in 1991.

The complete ninth season sees Harold leave the Lodge for corporate life in the big city (with frequent visits from his uncle, of course); the men auctioning themselves to raise money-and get dates; Red and the gang turning an old school bus into a hot air balloon; Red inventing grass that grows only two inches high; Red deciding to go over the falls in a beer barrel, among many others. Gas station attendant Dale joins the group, and Ranger Gord begins his series of oh-so-educational cartoons.

Join Red, Harold, and all the guys at Possum Lodge for a year's worth of doing what men do when women aren't around-and some things that are even worse.

Special Features: Character bios and production notes written by series creator Steve Smith.

Headquartered in suburban Washington, D.C., Acorn Media distributes distinctive home video releases to the North American market with a special focus on the best of British television. Acorn's DVD sets are available from select retailers, catalog companies, and direct from Acorn Media at (888) 870-8047 or www.acornonline.com.
