A month ago we
had a report for you, that
The Real McCoys - The Complete Season 1 is
coming back to DVD on
July 24th. The Inception Media Group is re-releasing this title on the 5-year anniversary of the first date this title came out from Infinity Resources and Falcon Pictures. From 2007 to 2010 they put out 4 seasons of the sitcom, which was Executive Produced by Danny Thomas and aired from 1957 to 1963...six seasons total.
Now Inception is scheduling a release of ALL SIX SEASONS in one big DVD package, planned to be available starting
September 18th. Tentatively titled
The Real McCoys - Seasons 1-6 Collection, this "complete series" package contains all 224 episodes, remastered, for $99.98 SRP. You can
pre-order it now. Package art isn't available, but below is a studio description of the set. Our thanks to one of our readers, "Stephanie," for the heads-up.
One of TV s biggest hits of the era, The Real McCoys (1957-1963) paved the way for other rural comedy shows, including Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C., The Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction and Green Acres. When a happy-go-lucky West Virginia mountain family moves to a ranch in California s San Fernando Valley, anything is likely to happen. Starring Grampa Amos McCoy (three-time Academy Award-winner Walter Brennan) a porch-rockin , gol-darnin , consarnin old codger with a wheezy voice who loves to meddle in other people s affairs, neighbors and kin alike. Joining him are grandson Luke (Richard Crenna); Luke s new bride, Kate (Kathleen Nolan); teenage sister, Aunt Hassie (Lydia Reed); 11-year-old brother Little Luke (Michael Winkelman); musically inclined farm hand Pepino (Tony Martinez); and their argumentative neighbor, George MacMichael (Andy Clyde). George s spinster sister Flora (Madge Blake) has eyes for Grampa but, alas, it s not meant to be. This Complete Series collector s set includes all 224 half-hour episodes of this treasured series on DVD digitally remastered for unparalleled picture and audio quality.
