"The Real Ghostbusters" animated series debuted on Saturday morning TV in 1986 to continue where the blockbuster feature film left off. The four Ghostbusters were joined by secretary Janine Melnitz and their green ghost side-kick Slimer. This second volume of DVD releases includes 31 full episodes and is loaded with bonus materials for the collector & fan including: featurettes; four on-camera visual commentary tracks featuring producers, writers, artists & voice-over actors; 19 special on-camera episode introductions; 3 image galleries; 5 isolated music & effects tracks; and scripts & storyboards in PDF format on DVD-ROM. "Animating The Real Ghostbusters"; 12-page booklet includes episode synopses, trivia and art for every episode.
Available directly from Time-Life for quite some time now, the studio is now gearing up for a general retail release of
The Real Ghostbusters - Volume 2 on DVD. This 5-disc set will cost $39.98 SRP, but can be pre-ordered for just $27.99 from Amazon at the time of this writing (see button link below; pricing could be subject to change without notice, at Amazon's discretion). It will be available in all stores on
January 26, although Walmart will exclusively have it a week earlier than that (although at a six-dollar higher price than Amazon, according to current info at Walmart's website).
