This coming Wednesday (Sept. 19th) see the premiere of Fox Network's new Gordon Ramsay series
Kitchen Nightmares, which is sometimes billed by the network as the "third season" of
Hell's Kitchen. Whether you look at it that way or not, it's most certainly the USA version of Britain's 2004 series
Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, which originally aired on the U.K.'s Channel 4, and is currently airing on the BBC America channel.
The concept is simple: Ramsay visits a restaurant that is not doing well, and will spend a week getting them to fix their problems. And you know Gordon Ramsay: he doesn't accomplish that with "friendly suggestions"! The goal is to fill up empty tables, and make the menu something everyone in town will want to sample, while getting the service staff to shape up or ship out.
On
October 16th, VEI of Toronto will release the U.K. series,
Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares - Volume 1, on DVD. This Canada-only release lists for CA$21.99, but can be
ordered from Amazon.ca for CA$15.39 (and will, of course, work on players sold in the USA if you import it). You'll get 2 discs in this package, and we've got a look at the front cover for you:
