A few weeks ago we
reported that
Queer as Folk - The Complete Series is on its way to DVD: the 28-disc set covering all 5 seasons of the Showtime series is due to ship on
November 20th. Price is expected to be $249.99 SRP for this premium box set, but you can
lock in an Amazon pre-order for just $174.99 right now!
The big e-tailer doesn't have box art yet, nor do any of the other big-name, well-known online retailers that would be familiar to most of our readers. However, a smaller, specialty online retailer called "Diverse Universe" has
posted box art for this collection. We've asked the studio to confirm that this is indeed the correct box art, but they have not responded after multiple attempts. So we're passing it along to our readers for now, and we'll let you know if anything changes. Our thanks to reader Marshall Blakley for the heads-up!
UPDATE: Thanks to a number of readers who have written in, we have found out that this box art is NOT the official Showtime/Paramount artwork for the upcoming set. It apparently comes from an overseas release in the China/Hong Kong market, and we're told that it might in fact represent a bootleg release.
