It's been more than a year since the 3rd season of Punky Brewster came to DVD, and fans have been wondering where the 4th season of the show is. Folks who are in-the-know at Shout! Factory have made no bones about the reasons for the delay: after the third season sold way less than anticipated, especially given pre-release fan interest that motivated Shout! to license the final two seasons in the first place, the fourth and final season of Punky Brewster became a lower priority for them in the production schedule. Still, they always intended to releasing it at some point.
When is that point? We've heard from trusted sources in the home video industry that Shout! Factory is tentatively planning a DVD release of Punky Brewster - Season 4 on February 26, 2008. That's FAR off in the future - six months - so we're sure you'll agree that anything can change between now and then. Still, it's good to hear some word about this at last! Stay tuned for updates on this, and word about other Shout! Factory stuff that's in the works.
