It's been a month since we last
posted about
Project Greenlight 2, which we then only knew would arrive sometime in July.
July 13th is the exact date, we now know thanks to
Amazon.com and various other online retailers, where this can currently be pre-ordered. This time around the list price is $39.99 for a 3-DVD set.
The studio hasn't issues media materials (such as a press release or an EPK) for this item so far, but culling information from all of the online retailers gives us a decently clear picture of what will be included, but parts of it are still fuzzy:
- All 13 episodes from the 2nd season will be represented. We're not sure if these are complete episodes or highlights, though.
- The movie that was documented, The Battle of Shaker Heights (starring Shia LaBeouf and Amy Smart), will apparently be included. This was already released separately from Miramax last December, and the cover of the box markets it as "The Project Greenlight Movie."
- The release is cited as a "Director's Cut"; we're not sure if this refers to the film, the episodes, or both.
- The aspect ratio is stated to be both "Fullscreen 4x3" and "Widescreen 16x9"; we imagine that this means that the episodes are 4x3 and the film is 16x9.
- Sound is English Dolby Digital.
- No extras seem to be mentioned anywhere.
Please remember that this is preliminary, and that we are still waiting for official word to come direct from the studio about this release. So take it all with a grain of salt. But the price is right at Amazon, so if you want to get your pre-order in, then
