Earlier this week we had the early word that Fox Home Entertainment was preparing to announced the DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases of Prison Break - Season 3. Now the studio has made it official, confirming the August 26th release date to retailers...for both the standard and hi-def format versions!
The standard definition DVD version will cost $49.98 SRP in the USA and CA$69.98 SRP in Canada. Video is in 16x9 anamorphic widescreen, with English - Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and subtitles in English, French and Spanish. Amazon is taking pre-orders on the DVD for $34.99 as of this writing.
The high definition Blu-ray Disc version lists for $79.98 SRP in the USA and CA$99.98 SRP in Canada. Widescreen 1.78:1 video is presented in 1080p resolution, of course. Audio is available in English - DTS 5.1 HD, Spanish - Dolby Digital 5.1 and French - Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. Subtitles options are the same: English, French or Spanish. This release means that the 1st and 3rd seasons of Prison Break will be on Blu-ray, but the second season is not. Amazon has a Blu-ray listing for Prison Break - Season 3, and is taking pre-orders for $55.95 at this time.
Both versions of Prison Break - Season 3 are 4-disc sets running approximately 600 minutes, and both come with the following extras:

Additionally, the Blu-ray Disc version will also contain a Featurette called "Season 3: Orientacion". Meanwhile, the DVD version will get its own exclusive supplement, but it will be nothing more than a bonus episode of The Unit titled "Force Majeure" (probably not included on the BD because The Unit doesn' t have a separate hi-def Blu-ray release).
