A week ago we
passed along word that Warner Home Video had been preparing a release of
The Powerpuff Girls - 10th Anniversary Collection: The Complete Series on
January 20th. In the early info we relayed from
Home Media Magazine, we found out that the 6-disc set would contain 78 episodes, plus extras such as a Documentary on Creator Craig McCracken, Audio Commentaries, a Music Video, "and more."
This afternoon Warner made the formal announcement for this release, and revealed that it will also contain the "Twas the Fight Before Christmas" holiday special (which had
previously been released on its own DVD, but is now discontinued). This sounds like it will make for a lot of content on 6 discs, but we've also learned that these will be double-sided "DVD-18" discs. However, don't look for 2002's
The Powerpuff Girls - The Movie as part of this release; Warner's info shows that it will continue to be sold separately. Video for the included content is in full screen, with English Stereo 2.0 audio and English subtitles. Cost is $59.97 SRP for 1745 minutes.
