Yesterday we had the pleasure of talking to the folks at Buena Vista Home Entertainment, who controls all home video releases of the various versions of the
Power Rangers. One of the things we learned is that they are prepping official release info for the 4th and 5th single-disc releases of
Power Rangers Dino Thunder. The titles and other details will be revealed at that time, but we were told it's okay to pass on the street date for these two offerings.
December 7th is when these will hit stores. This coincides with the timeframe we
reported about in our last news item. Don't forget, that 5th volume will have a sneak preview on it for the newest team, which debuts on television next February:
Power Rangers S.P.D..
There's been a lot of rumors going on about possible season sets of the
Power Rangers. One very insistent person even claimed that "the press releases are being sent around the net to DVD websites." Well, we're a DVD website, and didn't get any such press release. When we asked Buena Vista to comment on this, the reply was that there are no such press releases on tap. That there are not currently any season sets of the
Power Rangers on the schedule (not to say that they couldn't possibly be in the works for down the road, but it would be a long road indeed). Some of the other series mentioned in these rumors aren't even owned by Buena Vista (
Roseanne, for example, as anyone who read
our 8/12 news story would already know).
Buena Vista does, however, have robust plans for various DVDs of various shows. Some are series sets, some are individual discs, some are "best ofs" (and appropriately so, in the cases we were told of). Look for more news from BVHE in the days to come.
