Late last week, on Saturday, folks who had pre-ordered
Popeye the Sailor - Volume 3: 1941-1943 DVDs from Amazon began to get notices from the big e-tailer, letting them know that the 2-disc set had been delayed: instead of releasing on the previously announced date of September 30th, it was instead pushed back to a new street date of
November 4th. We waited to confirm the information with the studio, because their password-protected press site was still showing the original date at the time. However, the studio has now updated that overnight, and it's now also showing the delayed date. The studio has not responded at this time to our request for comments about the reason for the delayed.
