broke the report about Warner Home Video's announcement of
Popeye & Friends - Volume 1, a single-disc release (costing $14.98 SRP). It is a title aimed at more casual fans of the spinach-eatin' sailor, as compared to the more "collectible", extras-filled releases represented by last year's
Popeye the Sailor - Volume 1: 1933-1938 4-disc set and the upcoming
Popeye the Sailor - Volume 2: 1938-1940 2-disc set.
Just a short time ago this afternoon, Warner released the package art for the newly announced
Popeye & Friends - Volume 1 title, and we're first to you with it below! This release, like
Popeye the Sailor - Volume 2: 1938-1940, will be available starting on
June 17th. The wording on the box reveals that there will be a total of 8 cartoon shorts on this disc, but we still don't know yet which ones will be there. Stay tuned!
