This past Friday we brought you
MGM's press release for the
November 25th release of
The Pink Panther Ultimate Collection. This will be an 18-disc collection which includes 9 theatrical films along with 9 DVDs of cartoons, many of which have been seen as part of
The Pink Panther Show. Also included is Jerry Beck's encyclopedic book,
Pink Panther, The Ultimate Guide to the Coolest Cat in Town!
Package art wasn't available at the time, but we've got your first look at it on this Labor Day. We also want to clarify that the collection of films does NOT include 1975's
Return of the Pink Panther, the third sequel film in the theatrical series, because the home video rights lie with a different studio than MGM. We've also been asked several times if cartoon discs 7, 8 and 9 in the
Ultimate Collection are going to also be made available separately. We frankly don't know at this time what MGM's plans are about it, but if we find out we'll certainly let you know, so stay tuned!
UPDATE (9/2): MGM and Fox have now sent over an additional picture of the "shelf look" of this package, a non-exclusive shot that we have for you on the bottom.
