At the beginning of November we
reported to our readers that the long-awaited DVD release of
Picket Fences - Season 1 would arrive on Feb. 13th. However,
Amazon.com's pre-order listing is showing that the title is delayed...they say that the new date is "June 1st."
That's crazy talk, though, we say. Why? Because the first of June, 2007 is a Friday, and DVDs rarely get released on any weekday other than a Tuesday. So we checked in with Fox and found out that the delay may not be quite as long as June. They verified that the release IS delayed, though, and for the very best of reasons: because they want to take a bit longer to clean up the video, and bring it up to the level of video quality the fans will expect.
Amazon's date is probably a generic one they chose on their own, and meant to give a general idea of how long the wait could end up being. We'll give you the official Fox Home Entertainment release date as soon as they make their decision. Stay tuned!
