While all four of the DVD releases of
Perry Mason so far have been "half season" sets (
Season 1, Volume 1 and the like), CBS/Paramount has announced something different this morning.
April 8th will see the release of the
Perry Mason - 50th Anniversary Edition package. Running 714 minutes, this release has no details or cost yet, but my guess is that this will be some sort of "best of" compilation meant to celebrate the fifty-year anniversary of the end of the show's first successful season, which was in June 1958 (it debuted in September 1957). We're just speculating, though, since the studio hasn't provided details yet. We do have a look at the package for you, though:
