When I
posted news the other morning about
Step By Step - Television Favorites, I commented in passing that it was one of several titles mentioned late last year by our friends over at SitcomsOnline for a 6/27 release date, along with
Alice - Television Favorites. But the 3rd title supposedly in that wave, from the highly popular
Perfect Strangers series, was "nowhere in sight."
Later that day Pavan over at Sitcoms Online
posted an explanation about that, stating that the title was first pushed back from its June date, and then pushed off the schedule completely for 2006. Here is a quote from Pavan's contacts that he posted at SitcomsOnline.com: "
...research and analysis was done. Unfortunately, neither Full House nor Perfect Strangers will be released this year as a TV Favorites release due to financial constraints."
We'll talk further about
Full House in a separate news post. As for
Perfect Strangers, fans who participated in SitcomsOnline.com's
poll late last year to determine which episodes were to be included on this disc may be rightly upset to learn that nothing seems to be coming of it. The new article also indicates that there are no known plans yet for other DVD releases, such as season sets, either. We sincerely hope that changes, and we'll be looking hard for evidence of SOME sort of DVD release for Larry and Balki, so stay tuned.
