Penn & Teller: Bullshit! - The Complete Season 2 box set marks the return of the self-proclaimed pit-bulls for the truth, set out to prove that many of the institutions society holds dear are bogus and designed to profit from the desperate and trusting public. Each of the 13 episodes includes interviews and undercover segments intertwined with Penn & Teller's comedy. With zeal, passion and conviction the duo examines taboo topics and organizations such as PETA, safety hysteria, the business of love, 12 step programs and the fountain of youth. Penn & Teller won two Emmys for their 1985 PBS special "Penn & Teller Go Public" and the prestigious 2004 Writers Guild Award for Best Comedy/Variety Series. They have also authored two best selling books.

That's the synopsis from Ventura Distribution for the release they are promoting for Showtime Entertainment's Penn & Teller: Bullshit! - The 2nd Season, due on Feb. 1st. Penn Jillette and his (usually silent) partner, Teller, are your hosts for uncovering the steaming piles of untruths and myths that are flung our way daily. Along the way, they become equal-opportunity offenders, revealing unpleasant truths about things that many of us consider to be good and valid. The comedy duo must be doing something right, though, because their series has been renewed for a 3rd season, and this DVD release is meant to help promote it. $34.99 is the list price for a package that runs 390 minutes for 13 episodes. Extras, if any, haven't been revealed yet.

When the 1st Season of this series was released last March, there was some misunderstanding and controversy about the dual covers available for the box set. One version had the word "Censored" in a black box that was pasted over the cuss word that made up the title of the show. This led buyers to believe that the DVDs in that box were also censored, but it was actually just the title on the outer box, so brick-and-morter store retailers like Best Buy would be able to stock their shelves with a version that didn't cuss at their customers. The same disc content could be found in either package.

This time, to keep the confusion at a minimum, Showtime and Ventura's alternate packaging instead shorten the politically incorrect word to it's more acceptable form of "BS". Once again, though, there is no known intention of censoring the content of the discs themselves. Here is a look at both versions of the packaging:
